The Daugavpils - Mežciems run, which started in 1966, will take place for the 57th time this year on September 24 at Daugavpils Unity Square. About 700 participants will compete, including Latvia's elite runners, and the event is open to all ages – from toddlers to seniors. This year, for the first time, the Mežciems run will be the Latvian Championship in the 5 km road race, and there will also be a 10 km distance and a 5 km Nordic walking event. All finishers will receive a special race medal, while the top performers in the 5 km and 10 km distances will receive cash prizes.
